I was recently looking through a collation of quotes that I’d written down because they’d touched me so much at the time. It surprisingly turned out to be an invigorating exercise because even though these quotes had previously been so potent for me, I’d since forgotten about them, so re-reading them ignited so many fresh perspectives and new waves of motivation.
In today’s new podcast episode, I share 10 of these quotes with you
Here’s a sneak peek at the first three:
1. Overall motivation:
“Reality is negotiable. If you stress-test the boundaries and experiment with the “impossibles,” you’ll quickly discover that most limitations are a fragile collection of socially reinforced rules you can choose to break at any time” – Tim Ferris
What a great reminder that perception is reality in the eye of the beholder, and we get to write our own narrative of what is ‘realistic’ to achieve in our lifetime!
2. Struggling times:
“We often suffer more in our imagination than reality” – Seneca
How many times have you freaked out about a future event like a job interview or a presentation, only to complete it and realise it was nowhere near as bad as you thought it would be? I like to use this as a reminder that my thoughts and feelings are valid, but they’re simply an illusion.
3. Fear of judgement:
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” – Friedrich Nietzsche
Any time someone judges you for something, it’s a projection of their own beliefs, values, and experiences than it is of you. That’s why two people can hold complete opposite opinions about the same thing. Remember, it’s more about them than you!
