Research shows that the relationship between money and depression is a U shape. Those with very low income have high levels of depression. As they make more money, their depression is reduced and they become happier. BUT, after a certain point of income, more money starts to create more depression again

So this shows that money does play a role in happiness, but ONLY UP TO A POINT. There are many other proven factors that create happiness that are completely independent of income levels.
