It’s been 2 weeks since getting back from Bali. 2 weeks of the most energy, focus, and drive I’ve had in a long time.
This can be attributed to various things. One factor is how I’ve been formatting my days since getting back.
Before 12pm each day, I’ve been starving myself completely of ‘cheap’ dopamine.
- No food
- No phone
- Cold shower only
And so what do I get to get excited about?
- 3-4 hours of deep work
- Reading for an hour
- Intensely eye-opening journaling
- Exercise
Why have I done this?
Because our need for dopamine is like our need for food. If we keep snacking, we’re not going to be hungry for proper food anymore.
To be more productive, you need to stop giving in to ‘cheap’ dopamine hits. Reserve your hunger for the work that REALLY needs to be done!
