Why you should stop texting people in 2026 💬

BACK TO THE BLOG

Here’s a quick pop up quiz for you: When you’re contacting someone after a networking event, getting in touch with an old client to ask a favour, or wanting to pitch a cool lead, how should you contact them?

A. Email

B. Text message

C. Voice message

D. Phone call

Most people: Text message

Me: Voice message

Why?

A voice message can’t be sent by an assistant

It can’t be written by AI

It can’t be copied and pasted

It immediately gains points with the other person because it’s personal and takes effort.

The other person can hear your tone and will feel connected with you more than every other person they’ve emailed or consumed on social media that day.

And you can actually send voice message via email too, so there are really no excuses 😉

When I send voice messages, I often get exclamations of appreciation for the personal touch.

Like the time I messaged a new follower with a voice note, and she said “Wow, no one’s ever done this before, you ARE different!”

(As for phone-call, thats also ideal, but it’s just less socially accepted now unless it’s a pre-planned call or something urgent. So you don’t want to come across too #keen 🤣)

And this is why developing your speaking skill is simply a non-negotiable.

The contrast? Hide behind AI perfected emails all you want, but the price you pay will be that you are at a constant disadvantage.

When you get over hating the way you sound, and you actually know how to:

  1. Create a great first impression in just 10 seconds
  2. Make the other person feel welcomed
  3. Introduce yourself with engagement
  4. Pitch with credibility

… All with your voice, then you will win every situation you find yourself in.

At this is why I’ve created the drop-in speaking makeover session on July 27!

In a small group of 8 (Half spots are full so there are only 4 left), I’ll guide you through your own introduction 1:1 so you can learn the six most impactful changes you can make to your communication.

Then, you’ll be ready to show up with charisma and authority every day.

Learning general speaking techniques might not be relevant for you, if you are completely missing something else that is damaging your authority and relationships in every interaction.

If you are ready to transform your speaking for confidence, join us in the drop-in session on Monday, July 27 at 7pm Melbourne time (10am London time or 5pm Bali time – depending on where you are lol)

Can’t wait to meet you at the drop-in session,

Trang Nova ✨
